Our Integrated Solutions

Site Transportation

About

Railway renewals, enhancements and projects typically involve access to the infrastructure at
multiple points. For many sites fatigue rules also mean that a significant number of operatives will be required to stay in hotels. As there is often limited parking, and also an aspiration to reduce mileage and emissions from cars and vans, an efficient site transportation service is therefore essential.

Our fleet of modern 14-seater minibuses provides the ideal solution for site transportation, and for the growing need to convey members of the public around level crossing closures. Under recent highways legislation there is an obligation to provide accessible transport in this situation and in order to provide this 50% of our minibuses are now convertible to be able to convey wheelchairs.

Our PSV Operator’s Licence allows us to provide this service which is overseen by our in house PSV Transport Manager. Drivers dealing directly with the public are subject to extra background checks.

Efficient minibus operation is dependent on a high level of reliability and our robust approach to vehicle checks, inspections, maintenance and servicing reflects this. However, the competence of drivers is also a critical factor in providing a reliable service and our drivers are carefully selected and assessed on a continuous basis to ensure that they are fully qualified and competent to fulfil their role as well as consistently adopting the driving behaviours we expect and we use telematics to monitor this.
